magkaiba po ang Sharepoint sa Visual Studio. SharePoint Designer allows editting directly to a site collection. It's useful for working on those things you aren't going to throw into a SharePoint Solution (to be deployed by the site collection admin...)

Ginagamit mo yung Visual Studio when using it with Web Parts as Solution.

Tingin ko mas mas malaki ang scope ng Visual Studio kasi hindi lang sya pang web design kundi pati client-based programming... parang Visual Basic.
