(National Capital Reg - Mandaluyong City)


Responsibilities:
Department/Division: Office of Information Systems and Technology (OIST)

IMMEDIATE REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Director and/or designated professional staff.

JOB PURPOSE:To maintain database management and related software in order to ensure the performance, integrity, security, and availability of ADB\'s databases.


EXPECTED OUTCOMES: - Assists in the resolution of technical problems and assists Systems Development, Operations, and other sections\' staff in resolving problems relating to database management and related software and application programming languages; provides support and assistance, including performance tuning, in use of database management and other related software.; - Assists in the development, documentation, and implementation of standards and procedures covering the use of databases, database management related software and associated tools, particularly in the systems development, operations, backup and security areas.; - Maintains and administers the software systems, tools, scripts and procedures to support enterprise reporting and data warehousing.; - Creates procedures and uses software to gather statistics on database utilization and application systems performance, and assists with the tuning of the database management related software and application programs to achieve required performance levels.; - Performs ad hoc data maintenance and reorganization jobs to ensure the integrity and performance of the databases, and performs regular file and software parameter maintenance activities to cover the requirements of application system changes and development and user access to systems.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS a. Supervisor; Director and/or designated PS: Work planning, performance feedback, results assessment, and personal development; b. Internal Clients: Resolve technical problems relating to database management and related software and application programming languages; support and assistance in use of database management and related software; etc..; c. External Clients: Keep abreast with IT technology and industry practice; etc.

Requirements:
Bachelor\'s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field; current certification in one or more of Oracle Database Administration, Cognos


Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.


5 years computer system design, development and programming, including at least 2 years of experience in database administration and management and some systems programming experience.


With administration and technical support knowledge and experience in: DBMS: Oracle, ADABAS, MySQL, Sybase; Tools; Oracle Discoverer, Cognos tools; Operating Systems: Novell Netware, Windows 2003, Windows XP, different UNIX versions, and other currently installed OS; Groupware/Email: Lotus Notes and other equivalent systems currently installed in the network server; Systems Software/Utilities: Oracle Enterprise Manager, Quest tools, Hummingbird Exceed, TOAD, HP Openview, PC Anywhere, Netware Connect, FTP, Telnet and other software installed. Expertise in relevant database management systems, database design, systems programming, programming languages, and structure systems analysis and design; expertise in use of database related performance measurement software.
