I'm relative new here... I want to learn java programming am just wondering what do i need and where do i start, any help is appreciated.

Before you start the coding, better to prepare yourself and download the following:

some good references (stick with a few or you'll be overwhelmed)
a good IDE like Eclipse
to decide whether to pursue Java Standard (desktop apps), Enterprise (web apps), Mobile Edition (mobile apps) or all three! ;)
