Most Lucrative IT Career Path?
« on: November 28, 2009, 05:23:56 PM »
Hey Guys,

I was hoping you could answer a couple of questions I have about some IT jobs I'm considering....

Out of these three, which is the most lucrative:

SAP
-and which branch is the most lucrative? SAP FICO, HR, Business One, All-in-one, etc.?
Network Engineer/Architect

-Microsoft or Cisco?
-once you become a level 3 certified engr. is it pretty much smooth sailing from there?

Database Administrator
-is it more lucrative to become an Oracle db admin, or one for MS SQL?

Also, can you describe a typical day on the job? Is it fun, exciting, stressful, boring, etc.?

Thanks in advance guys!  ;D

I would have to say Database Administrator.

Highly technical kasi ang position na eto. You have to take a balance between being a technical person and a business person in the sense that you have to deal to the management about costing, migration, and more.

Although ok din ang Network Engineer, parang mas promising lang ang database administrator. What do you think guys?

I wonder who among you here is venturing into learning BIG DATA, NOSQL, PIG HIVE, etc? Do you think it's promising that i go to learn these technologies now? I mean could this be in demand in the future?

I think it's about project management career track... rewarding sya over the long run kasi kung part ka ng management, mas magkakaroon ka ng perspective about money running in the line of technology.
