How to perform single signon in Cognos by using URL?
« on: August 15, 2008, 07:43:04 AM »
Hi guys,

The company where i work for uses Cognos as their business intelligence platform. We used to implement single sign on or SSO using Active Directory when we log in Windows Environment. Our Lotus Notes Domino Databases use also this SSO . I just don\'t have an idea how to implement SSO in Cognos. I want this also be sync in Cognos everytime someone opens a link via the browser. Is there a way to do this?

Many Thanks.

According to some research i got before...

a) Configure and enable the LDAP authentication namespace
b) Configure Cognos server to use or read the "REMOTE_USER" env var, or a "cookie"
c) Set the "REMOTE_USER" or "cookie" from the java application
d) Launch the URL to a report
e) Then Cognos would "read" the value of the "REMOTE_USER" or "cookie" to determine the user, and thus apply appropriate security.
