Hello to everyone~!

Would just like to share what I have realized so far with maintaining a minimum balance in your EON Cyber Account.

A few months have already passed and with a minimum balance in my account, it seems that the interest that I earned wasn't really around the amount I thought it would earn.

I earned around less than five pesos every month. Not sure if its just because of the mimimum or with the little excess added in my account.

I just have to wait and see if things would change if Twenty thousand would be in my account. Would it earn me less than ten pesos or not?

Anyone out there who already did this? Would like to hear your experiences or ideas about it. I sure don't have much idea about banking really (-_-")

Hi freelynx23, i haven't experienced it yet myself but with your query if it's zero balance i guess they would automatically close the account (provided no transaction for 2 years). This is normally the current protocol even with other bank products like savings account, if i'm not mistaken. Like what i have before, i have a metrobank savings account. Whenever it reaches a zero balance it would automatically close the account. I also have another card which is Equitable PCI Bank ATM Savings account before. I think it has around P11.00 in it. It became inactive for a year and then when i decided to inquire again to check the balance, ATM ejected the card even with phone banking it didn't work.

If you still have a balance in your card to deduct the dormancy fee and you are still planning to use the account i think it is possible. But if your current account balance can't deduct the dormancy fee, it would close the account automatically. This is my understanding... san nya idededuct yung fee diba?

I find this info useful when dealing with dormancy and inactive accounts:

Inactivity Charges
No Transaction Penalty (no transaction for 1 year)
---> PHP 200.00 per month starting on the end of 12th month of inactivity until the account becomes dormant
Dormancy Charge (no transaction for 2 years)
----> PHP 500.00 per month starting on the end of 24th month of inactivity

http://www.unionbankph.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=926&Itemid=286

* Ooops, and one more thing pala... *** Transaction involves, depositing and withdrawal ... balance inquiry is not considered a transaction by the way. I actually verified this to one bank officer coz i got confused before. I hope able to help you with your query.

Why not deposit something in your account. it might come in handy when needed. Ako nga i decided not to close the account sayang e. Medyo mahirap din mag apply ng bago kasi medyo mabagal service ng unionbank not unless meron ibang services yung ibang Banks like BDO or BPI which is better.. well those am not yet aware of. =)

Hi,

I have a question regarding the inactive/dormancy fee. How are they going to charge with that in case your account has zero balance or lets say you decided not to use the card for a long time, are they going to bill you for that? Or they will just deduct the dormancy fee once you deposited money again to your account?

Excuse my ignorance but Im really new to this EON card.

Normally 1-2 weeks ma release na EON card nyo it takes to 3-4 weeks pag malayo kayo.

I just want to make sure if my computation is correct because, if the interest would actually earn you Php 50 per month, that would mean, you can just leave your money to increase on itself and you could even earn more than the annual charge of Php 350.

Hello and good day!

I'm just wondering on the interest that UnionBank's EON card would offer. 0.500% when you maintain a minumum of Php 10,000 in your account. That means you would earn Php 50 per month?

Has anyone really earned an interest like that with their EON card?

Thank you again.
