The question though is how many false positives and negatives get caught by Akismet. It troubles me that they don’t announce those numbers. I was always pulling folks out of the caught comment queue.

Yep i agree dr mike….. just like in our case… (got your message from meebo.. i wasnt online ) ..when you actually commented here in my post it tagged as spam on my comment queue.. so i needed to de-spam your item. This would probably mean that a slice share of the 89% are actually false spams. A tidbit probably? O well lets just hope akismet would disclose such info.
I just dont know how the Akismet’s program categorizes a comment if its a spam or not… maybe something to do with those keywords in the message and ip addresses (?). I just hope the de-spamming feature would surely let the succeeding emails pass through.
